L\u2019oxyg\u00e9noth\u00e9rapie hyperbare (OHB) est aujourd\u2019hui reconnue par la Haute Autorit\u00e9 de Sant\u00e9 (HAS) comme traitement compl\u00e9mentaire des ulc\u00e8res diab\u00e9tiques du pied r\u00e9fractaires aux soins conventionnels. En augmentant massivement la concentration d\u2019oxyg\u00e8ne dans les tissus isch\u00e9miques, l\u2019OHB stimule l\u2019ang\u00edog\u00e9n\u00e8se (formation de nouveaux vaisseaux), active les leucocytes pour lutter contre les infections et acc\u00e9l\u00e8re la synth\u00e8se du collag\u00e8ne n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 la cicatrisation. Des essais cliniques randomis\u00e9s ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 une r\u00e9duction de 50% du risque d\u2019amputation majeure chez les patients trait\u00e9s par OHB par rapport au groupe contr\u00f4le. L\u2019OHB am\u00e9liore \u00e9galement le contr\u00f4le glyc\u00e9mique en r\u00e9duisant la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l\u2019insuline via ses effets sur l\u2019inflammation syst\u00e9mique.
